PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina Middle School eighth grade football team lost 12-0 to Batesburg-Leesville.

Corey Stone had 54 yards passing for the Rebels and Jevon Boyd had 3 rushes for 65 yards.

Iyon Thompson led the Rebels with seven tackles in the game and Boyd recovered a fumble.

The seventh grade team fared better with a 20-16 win.

Jalen Bates Caldwell scored a touchdown on a 61 yard reception from Cade Ruff. Ruff then ran a quarterback sneak to score the two point conversion.

Curtis Graham scored a touchdown on a three yard run.

Isaiah Johnson scored a touchdown on a 65 yard reception from Ruff.

Reggie Gallman was the leading rusher for the Rebels with 21 yards on two carries and Ruff completed two touchdown passes and collected 125 yards passing.

On defense Jacob Harmon and Gabe Trainor led the Rebels with two tackles a piece. Harmon also recovered a fumble.

The eighth grade team will travel to Abbeville on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. game.
