Newberry Police officers conducted license checks in a number of locations around the city on Friday night like this one on Dixie Drive near Wilson Road. Sgt. Chuck Rogers said the officers were writing a number of tickets for a variety of reasons including child restraint violations. Officers are promising to continue to do road checks throughout the holidays. Rogers added his department will also team up with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office and S.C. Highway Patrol to do checks around the city and county.
