Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson of Boiling Springs are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their lovely daughter Sarah Ellen Johnson to Joel Vernon Kirkpatrick Trantham of Newberry. Sarah’s maternal grandparents are Mrs. Evalee Stone and the late Mr. Bernard Stone of Lenoir, N.C. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Charles Johnson of Lenoir, N.C.

Both Sarah and Joel are Clemson University graduates. Sarah also graduated in July 2012 from MUSC College of Health Professions and will be employed by UniHealth as an occupational therapist.

Joel is the son of Rev. Jerry Trantham, pastor at Colony Lutheran Church, and Diane Trantham of Newberry. His maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Chet Drost of Sullivan, Ill. and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lane Trantham of Darlington. Joel has a B.A. in architecture with a minor in business, cum laude, from Clemson and is a M ARCH graduate of the University of Virginia. He is employed by E. E. Fava Architects, Etc. in Charleston.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s Chapel on the campus of MUSC in Charleston.

The reception is to follow at Edisto Hall at James Island County Park. Friends and relatives are invited to attend upon reservation to Mr. and Mrs. Johnson by Sept. 21, 2012.
