NEWBERRY — The tassels will move for 54 Newberry College students on Wednesday during the commencement exercises.
The graduation will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Wiles Chapel on the college campus.
The commencement speaker will be Dr. Peggy Barnes Winder.
Barnes-Winder received her Bachelors of Arts from Newberry College and masters from Western Kentucky University and her Ph. D. from Touro International University.
In 1998 she was the first female inducted into the Newberry College Athletic Hall of Fame, and in 2001 she received the Newberry College “Outstanding Young Alumnus” award.
With the upcoming graduation the semester has come to an end for many of the college students and they have returned home for the Christmas break.
