LITTLE MOUNTAIN — Students at Little Mountain Elementary School are participating in the Big Buddy/Little Buddy Program during the 2012-2013 school year. The program involves fifth-graders serving as mentors to kindergarten, first-graders and second-graders.
The Big Buddies were chosen from an application and interview process and were required to attend training sessions by Sherry Swindler, a counselor at Little Mountain Elementary School.
The students work in a supervised setting one day per week in various academic areas.
The program has been in existence for the past 15 years and has been a helpful experience for the Little Buddies as well as the Big Buddies.
