Arrington, Folk share vows

Miss Lindsey Brooke Arrington and Mr. John Christian Folk were married on June 11, 2011, at The Overlook at the Clinton House Plantation in Clinton. The Rev. Floyd Sides officiated the 7 p.m. outside ceremony. A reception followed at The Overlook.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Edward Arrington of Prosperity. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Evelyn Ford Arrington and the late Mr. Gilbert Edward Arrington and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Harold Henderson Sr. of Spartanburg. The bride is a graduate of Newberry College with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and Grand Canyon University with a Master’s in education administration. She is employed by Newberry County School District as an assistant principal.

The groom is the son of Mr. John David Folk of Newberry and Ms. Merrie Dickert Folk of Chapin. The groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Hayne Folk and the late Mr. and Mrs. John William Dickert Jr. both of Newberry. He is a graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, served in the U.S. Army and is currently employed as a supervisor with Kraft Foods Inc.

Miss. Lauren Arrington, sister of the bride, served as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Kimberly Chapman, sister of the groom; Mrs. Kala Arrington, Mrs. Jennifer Hix, Miss Amanda Price, Miss Betsy Brooks and Mrs. Misty Cooper. Miss Amelia Bruyere served as the flower girl.

Mr. John David Folk, father of the groom, served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen included Mr. Joshua Chapman, brother-in-law of the groom; Mr. Matthew Arrington, brother of the bride; Mr. Christopher Petty, Mr. Jared Long and cousins of the groom, Mr. Austin Crawford, Mr. Regan Sheeley and Mr. Thad Sheeley. Master Brady Chapman, nephew of the groom, served as the ring bearer.

Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Dominick and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sheeley. Music for the ceremony was provided by Mr. Christopher Dukes, pianist, and Dr. Carol Lenderman, soloist.

A bridal brunch was held on the patio at The Overlook, hosted by the bride’s aunts, Mrs. Martha Taylor, Mrs. Kathy Henderson, Mrs. Mary Henderson, Mrs. Linda Pearson and Mrs. Joy Arrington. A rehearsal dinner and party were hosted by the groom’s parents at The Overlook with music provided by Mr. Larry Williams.

After the honeymoon, the couple will reside in Newberry.
