NEWBERRY — “The Gift,” a Christmas drama will be presented by Glory Tabernacle on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and this year will be better than ever with new sets, props and scenes.

As the Christmas season is in full swing, it seems no one in the Shepherd family has time for young Caleb.

His dad Paul is always working and his mom favors his older sister Samantha. Adding to things, his friend Scott seems to have the perfect family that does everything together.

Soon, Caleb begins to feel hopeless and completely unloved until an Angel of God visits him. She takes him on a journey back in time to ancient Jerusalem to witness the life of Jesus – from birth to resurrection.

Watching the story unfold, from witnessing His entry into ministry at baptism to seeing His many miracles, Caleb becomes very interested in this man and what he offers people.

Just when Caleb is so excited he can almost burst, he looks on as Jesus is betrayed, murdered and buried.

All hope for him seems lost until an empty grave is discovered.

Those attending will not be disappointed with this production and will be blessed to see the real meaning of Christmas presented in a dynamic way.

Everyone who can is encouraged to bring a canned food item or a toy to help the church meet local needs.

Admission is free and there will be a social with light refreshments after Saturday’s performance.

The church is located at the intersection of Pope and Nance streets in Newberry.
