God wants us to have victory over sin, and when we don’t, it’s not God’s fault. By His Holy Spirit, He has given us the power to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to Him. God has all power, but He wants us to do our part, by praying, reading our Bible and trusting Him.

We need to stay away from things that God has told us not to do. We need to flee pride, if we are not careful we will think of ourselves more highly than we should. We need to live with humility. We need to stay away from envy and jealousy. We are to flee lust, the love of money, and evil thoughts about other people.

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.” 1 Timothy 6: 10-11

We can’t depend on ourselves to fight sin, but we need the power of God’s Spirit to help us.
