When we first come to Christ we are spiritual newborns, but we are not meant to stay that way. God’s plan is for us is to grow in grace and knowledge.
“But grow in grace; and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18
Spiritual growth is God’s will for us. We must take steps to grow spiritually strong. As a newborn Christian, we desire the spiritual milk. Growing pains hurt. God has given us the Bible, through it we learn about Him and His will for our lives. We also have the privilege of prayer, and we are blessed to fellowship with other believers. We need these things to help us grow.
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” 1 Peter 2:2-3
Our desire should be to make Bible reading and prayer a special part of our every day. If we Draw nigh to God, He will draw nigh to us.
