Trump’s platform is good

I guess you’ve heard the polls are tightening and the two leading candidates are virtually locked in a tie. The Democratic nominee has a slight lead with 3.2 percent of the vote, and the Republican nominee has 3.1 percent of the vote. Someone named “Anybody Else” has the remaining 93 percent, but she hasn’t shown up yet. “You can’t always get what you wa-a-a-ant….”

American voters are really fed up with politicians and bureaucrats, especially those at the national level. As an independent I despise both the Democratic and Republican parties. The establishment elite don’t really care about ordinary folks like us. Establishment elites in the Democratic party made sure Hillary was nominated because it’s her turn and she’s a woman. The GOP was hijacked by 19 candidates and the Peter Principle guaranteed the winner.

Ladies first: Let’s dispense with Hillary and move on. Hillary IS the establishment. She is more of the same. She is a pathological liar, and has no record of improving anything for anybody other than her own pocketbook. If voters want real change, they should vote for anyone except Hillary.

The Donald: I’ve come to look at Trump as a billionaire bubba, a rich, blue collar kind of guy who has never had to bow to the god of political correctness, bless his heart. Trump is growing on me.

I supported Ted Cruz during the primaries because Cruz is the smartest of any of the candidates, maybe the smartest presidential candidate in my lifetime. I also liked Cruz’s standing up to establishment elites in both parties to fight for policies he believed were right for all Americans.

Last week Cruz wrote six reasons why he will support Trump. Before citing his reasons, Cruz offered two explanations for his endorsement: 1. Cruz promised to support whoever the GOP nominated; 2. and, “by any measure Hillary Clinton is wholly unacceptable.”

Reason one: Supreme Court. The next president will appoint at least one justice to the Supreme Court, and may appoint as many as four new justices. Trump has listed solid, conservative, and constitutional people he would consider appointing to the Supreme Court. Hillary promises to appoint justices who would essentially nullify the First and Second Amendments.

Reason two: Obamacare. Hillary would expand federal control over healthcare and health insurance. Trump says he will sign legislation overturning Obamacare.

Reason three: Hillary has promised to regulate coal, oil, and gas industries even more than Obama has. Trump has promised to reel in regulations that are killing jobs in these sectors.

Reason four: Immigration. Hillary will continue Obama’s legacy of giving amnesty to illegal aliens, including criminal illegal aliens who find safe haven in sanctuary cities. Trump promises to revoke President Obama’s executive orders providing amnesty for illegal aliens.

Reason five: National security. Hillary will continue Obama’s blindness to the threat of Islamic terrorism at home and abroad. Trump promises to work with military leaders to make a plan to defeat Islamic terrorism.

Reason six: Internet freedom. Hillary supports and will continue Obama’s plan to give up America’s sovereignty over the Internet and give control to Russia, China, and Iran among other nations. Trump is against this plan and has spoken strongly in favor of free speech online.

I don’t want anything Hillary is promising. Like Cruz, I support these six planks of Trump’s platform.
