At the “A-List” LGBT for Hillary Gala September 9, Hillary Clinton read the following scripted comments from teleprompters. This was at least the second time she had used these words in public. They are coming from her heart. And her audience loved and applauded these words. “Yes!”
The elite, the very top progressives in America who look down their long Pharisaic noses at the rest of us who work and live far below their intelligence and righteousness have always believed most Americans are “deplorables.”
Hillary said: “You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”
Well, I have to disagree with Hillary. All of us are deplorable. 100%. The Bible says, “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” I’m a deplorable. You’re a deplorable. All God’s children are deplorables. At least, that’s what the Bible says. You know, God’s Word?
Of course, Hillary couldn’t leave it at deplorable. She had to take it one step further calling some of Trump’s folks “irredeemable.” She said, “Now, some of those folks — they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America.” Really? This is Queen Hillary’s judgment? Millions of American voters are “irredeemable?” Wow!
The Bible portrays Pharisees of Jesus’ day as being self-righteous snobs. You know the kind. Those who look down on everybody else, those who are much more intelligent, if not academic than everybody else. These are the people who look down on the rest of us and say, “You were born entirely in sin.”
I’ve been reading an interesting book, “The Great Evangelical Recession,” by John S. Dickerson, who notes the dramatic decline of the number of Evangelicals in America.
Dickerson writes, “Dr. Christian Smith, Professor of Sociology at Notre Dame: Evangelicals are 7 Percent of the United States;” David T. Olson, American Church Research Project: Evangelicals Are 8.9 Percent of the United States;” “Barna Group, Most Experienced Evangelical Pollsters: Evangelicals are 7 Percent of United States;” and “Christine Wicker, Award-Winning Religion Reporter: Evangelicals Are 7 Percent of the United States.” Only 7 or 8 out of 100 Americans today are Evangelicals.
To clarify the difference between Evangelicals and other professing Christians (even some Baptists), Dickerson lists “essentials” all Evangelicals, though not all professing Christians believe: Trinity; depravity of man; substitutionary atonement; Christ’s complete humanity and complete deity; sufficiency and exclusivity of Christ’s work; and need for a personal relationship with Christ.
Evangelicals disagree with Hillary because we believe no one is “irredeemable.” Why would Hillary and her elite supporters believe some people are “irredeemable?” Because the deplorables don’t measure up to the elites’ self-righteous standards.
When Jesus pronounced his “Woes” upon the scribes and Pharisees, he called them hypocrites saying, “Even so you too outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.”
From this deplorable person’s point of view establishment politicians like Hillary and elite media that support her are “full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” The vast majority of American voters do not trust Hillary, so she calls voters names, bless her heart.
Neither politicians nor governments can redeem deplorables. Thank God for redeeming the worst of us deplorables!
