Your goal should be to be without sin

Although Jesus Christ came to live within us by His Spirit when we gave our lives to Him, we still have to struggle with the temptation of sin, and we will as long as we live. We will never be completely free from sin in this life.

But that must not keep us from battling sin and trusting Christ to help us face the temptations. God wants is to become more like Christ, more like Him in our love and service.

“I BESEECH you therefore, brethern, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God” Romans 12:2

Someday we will be with the Lord forever, and when we do, no sin will be there, but until that day, our goal should be to be more like Christ by refusing to let sin have its way.
