EDMOND, Okla. — After finishing in third place at the Super Region II tournament last weekend, the Newberry Wolves will enter the 2014 NCAA Division II National Tournament ranked as the seventh team in the country, according to the final coaches’ poll.

Newberry falls two spots despite qualifying the second-most wrestlers for the national tournament with eight behind unanimous No. 1 pick Notre Dame (Ohio).

B.J. Young is the only Newberry wrestler remaining in the top eight rankings of his weight class. The senior will enter his fourth national tournament with a No. 8 national ranking. He is just the fifth Newberry wrestler to qualify for four national tournaments in a scarlet and gray singlet.

Young and the Wolves will head to Cleveland, Ohio, next weekend for the national tournament, with eight Newberry wrestlers vying for their national title on March 14 and March 15 in Public Hall.
