The Newberry Police Department responded to the following incidents:
• David Miller, 46, of 18137 Mumford Road in Burton, Ohio, was arrested Feb. 12 at 2 a.m. when a reporting officer was called to 36 Dusty Road in Newberry. Miller was trespassing after being asked to leave the property. While searching his belongings for identification, officers located an Altoids box containing several different types of pills, believed to be Clonazepam, a Schedule IV controlled substance. Having no prescription for the pills, he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
• Michael Wicker, 31 of 719 Rawls Road in Pomaria, was arrested for simple assault on Feb. 14. at 7:10 p.m. Police arrived at 2821 Main St. in Newberry to find Wicker with the victim.
• Anthony Lee Byrd Jr., 20 of 118 Hendrix Road in Newberry, was arrested Feb. 15 at 3:17 a.m. with driving under the influence, improper lights, driving under suspension, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, obstructing police, minor in possession of liquor, minor in possession of beer, and misuse of card prohibited by Newberry City Police. Jermaine Young, 30, of 1819 Vincent St. in Newberry, was arrested, along with Byrd and charged with open container and obstructing police.
