SPARTANBURG — The University of South Carolina-Upstate recently announced its Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List for the spring 2016 semester.

Dean’s List members included Emily Caudill of Prosperity, Carley Dominick of Silverstreet, Cohanskie Goodson of Newberry, and Kylin Hunter and Breanna Lindler of Whitmire.

Chancellor’s List members included Kindel Atkins of Prosperity, Johneka Byrd of Newberry, Lyndsay Gilliam of Little Mountain, and Shimia Hunter, Brantley Pressley and Stephen Thomas, all of Whitmire.

To be eligible for the Chancellor’s List, students must earn a 4.0 and be enrolled in at least 12 course hours. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, freshmen students must earn a 3.25 or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 course hours and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 course hours.

NEWBERRY — Wolf Pack Welcome 2016 recently welcomed new students and their families to a day-long program that offered new students and transfer students the opportunity to establish a link with faculty in their intended major, become familiar with the campus and the array of academic and campus life programs available at the school.

Local students who took part were Kayla Adams of Hopkins; Madison Brock and Cole Eison of Whitmire; Mariaisabel Caballero and Bethany Cromer of Little Mountain; Brooke Ball, Hanna Bannister, Princess Suber, Austin Wicker, Shyheim Williams, Justin Busby, Aminee Cockfield, Cedric Gallman, Cazmera Gray, Caleb Lawrimore and Joseph Meade, all of Newberry; Christopher Howe of Kinards; Trimone Hall and Julia Sanders of Pomaria; and John Trainor and Jacob Warren of Prosperity.

Jessie Turner of Pomaria and Kayla Hutto of Little Mountain were Alpha Leaders during Wolf Pack Welcome and assisted the college’s staff.
