NEWBERRY — Foster Senn, mayor of Newberry, was named president of the Association of South Carolina Mayors during the Municipal Association of South Carolina’s annual meeting held June 15.

Linda Page, mayor of Mount Pleasant, was elected vice president while Donnie Hilliard, mayor of Santee, was named immediate past president.

New board members elected for a three-year term included Wayne McCall, mayor of Travelers Rest; Mary Jane Darby, mayor of Edisto Beach; Kenneth Gist, mayor of Woodruff; and Jason Stapleton, mayor of Williston.

John Howard, mayor of Lancaster, was elected to fill a one year unexpired term.

Returning board members include Dennis Raines, mayor of Mauldin; Francenia Ellis, mayor of Furman; Tony Scully, mayor of Camden; Terrence Culbreath, mayor of Johnston; and Steve McDougall, mayor of Lexington.

The Association of SC Mayors was formed in 2011 under the umbrella of the Municipal Association of South Carolina to provide opportunities for South Carolina mayors to more fully engage in advocating for issues that affect cities and towns; to network, share ideas and best practices with other mayors; and to take part in educational activities.

The Association has 110 members.
