NEWBERRY COUNTY — Instant Admission Days have provided students the opportunity to complete most, if not all, of the requirements for enrollment. During July, these opportunities are being made available to students in Edgefield, McCormick, Greenwood and Newberry counties.
“We wanted to provide the Instant Admission process to students in all of our service areas,” said Renae Frazier, dean of admissions. “To make it more convenient, we decided to take the process to them.”
Instant Admission in Greenwood will be July 11 for students interested in enrolling for fall. Instant Admission Day in Newberry County is July 13; in McCormick on July 20; and in Edgefield on July 21.
Instant Admission will begin at 9 a.m. each day and go until 5 p.m. Admissions and financial aid counselors will be on hand to help students through the entire enrollment process in just one day.
During the Instant Admission Day, students can apply, take the placement test, complete the FAFSA for financial aid and register for classes.
“Some prospective students can find the process a little overwhelming,” said Frazier. “We wanted them to see that they are not alone.”
Students interested in attending Instant Admission Day at any location should bring their official high school transcript or GED Score report; official college transcripts if they have completed any previous college courses; a photo ID; their 2015 tax return; and their parents’ return, if they are under age 24.
The process will take two to four hours to complete, but will include everything the student will need to enroll in classes.
For those unable to attend, Frazier encourages them to contact the Admissions Office to start or complete the enrollment process.
“Our goal here at Piedmont Technical College is to help students transform their lives,” Frazier said. “Instant Admission is designed to help students move on to the next step – to achieve their goals.”
