NEWBERRY — Quiana Anderson Reed, a graduate of Newberry College, was crowned Mrs. South Carolina United States 2016 following a pageant held in May.
Reed, 33, lives in Duncan and is the director for recruitment at Spartanburg Community College. She will go on to represent the state this summer in Las Vegas, Nev., in the national Mrs. United States Pageant Inc.
Reed said she decided to compete for the opportunity to promote her platform “Character Speaks,” which is geared toward empowering young people through character education and mentoring programs.
Reed is married to Karl Reed, an educator and wrestling coach at Limestone College and a professional MMA fighter. Together, they promote “Character Speaks” and living healthy and active lifestyles across the state.
