All students in the Newberry County Career Center Nurse Aide program scored a 100 percent pass rate on the S.C. State Certification Exam administered on May 17. They are now qualified to seek employment as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in a healthcare facility. The students are, front row from left, Katelynn Boozer from Mid-Carolina High School, Mackenzie Stafford from Mid-Carolina and Alexus Ellis from Newberry High School. Back row are Michaela Williams from Mid-Carolina, Darian Gilliam from Whitmire Community School, Whitney Roberts from Mid-Carolina, Whitney Parks from Mid-Carolina, Kaitlynne Goodman from Mid-Carolina, and Nancy Satcher, a registered nurse and coordinator of the NCCC program. All eight students have made plans to pursue post-secondary education in a health science-related field. Due to the demand for Certified Nurse Aides and the success of the NCCC preparation program, the Career Center is doubling the size of this program for the 2016-17 school year.
