NEWBERRY — Newberry Elementary School fifth grade students looked to the stars without ever leaving campus recently thanks to the Woodmen of the World’s Star Lab exhibit.

Mark Rankin and Laura Sharp erected a tent-like domed structure inside the NES gym that contained a projector and a presentation on constellations, historical figures and legends and mythology. Students were reminded how civilizations used the stars for navigation as well as telling time.

Students also received information about the Camp Woodmen summer camp.
