CHAPIN — The Newberry College women and men’s tennis teams partnered with Special Olympics out of the Midlands area to spent their Saturday afternoon teaching and playing tennis with youths and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Both tennis teams took part in various activities throughout the afternoon that included skills training where the participants had a one-on-one tennis lesson with the student-athletes. Unified doubles was also a big part of this community service program as the tennis players paired up with the Special Olympics participants and played some friendly matches.

This program was held at the Crook Creek Park tennis facility in Chapin.
