NEWBERRY — The Jasper Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution held a wreath-laying ceremony March 29 on the town square in Newberry at the Vietnam War memorial.

Mayor Foster Senn and Scott Cain of Newberry County Council attended. After Mildred gave a history of the Vietnam War Commemorative Partnership, a wreath-laying ceremony was held. Regent Carol Marse led the ritual. Mildred Tyler, commemorative events chair, presented a beautiful wreath with live flowers at the ceremony.

Following the ceremony cookies and lemonade were served to the attendees. Elizabeth Willingham and Derryll Satterwhite made cookies, as did Mildred Tyler. Nell Horn and Leslie Harmon held the Vietnam Commemorative flag during the ceremony.
