GREENWOOD — The public is invited to attend Lander University’s Arbor Day Celebration on Dec. 4. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at the bridge behind Centennial Hall.

Two trees will be planted nearby, a Bald Cypress and Dawn Redwood. They were selected by Greenwood horticulturist John Elsley to add variety to the landscape.

Speakers will include Charlotte Barmore, president of the Greenwood Council of Garden Clubs; Dr. Rich Cosentino, president of Lander University; JoAnn Purkerson, Lander Arboretum Committee member; Dr. Diana Delach, Lander assistant professor of chemistry and Arboretum Committee president; Lander Assistant Professor of Biology Dr. Andrew Schwendemann; and Elsley.

Refreshments will be served.
