Luther exhibit

GREENVILLE — The Museum & Gallery at Bob Jones University is taking guests inside the world of Martin Luther, the Augustinian monk who nailed a list of grievances to a church door in Wittenberg, Germany, in 1517 and changed the course of history.

Opened Jan. 31, “Luther’s Journey: Experience the History” focuses on Martin Luther and his cultural impact.

“Luther’s Journey” gives visitors a unique look at the Protestant Reformation from the eyes of artists. Scenes from Luther’s life highlight the historical and emotional events surrounding the 95 theses while a 16th century allegorical work graphically displays the spiritual beliefs of Luther and his circle.

The exhibit also features three short videos that draw a biographical sketch of Luther, link his relationship in history to the notorious bubonic plague and reveal his influence in the realm of church music.
