The Healthy Chili Cook-Off held Feb. 4 raised $955 from chili sample sales, and $295 from the Newberry Arts Center’s Empty Bowls Project pottery sale. The funds raised will go to Manna House of Newberry. Additionally 22 donors were able to give blood to the Blood Connection, exceeding their goal of 18 donors. Four of the 22 donors were first time blood donors. The event attracted a total of 250 people, meeting the goal for the community centered health event.
