Choir workshop

NEWBERRY — Making a Difference in Our Youth is held Feb. 17 through Feb. 19 at Calvary Baptist Church under the direction of Jeffrey Lampkin.

The third annual youth choir workshop is free for ages 5 through 21. Rehearsal times will be 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 17 and 9:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 18. The concert will be held at 3 p.m. Feb. 19.

Head Start

NEWBERRY — GLEAMNS Head Start/Early Head Start is accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year.

To be eligible for Head Start, children must be 3 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2017. To be eligible for Early Head Start infants must be eight weeks old. For applications to be processed the following is needed: the child’s birth certificate or other proof of child’s age and proof of family income from the previous 12 months (2016 Form 1040, W-2, check stubs, etc.).
