SILVERSTREET — The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for Donnie Richardson, who was last seen at 10 p.m. Nov. 26.

“We are continuing to search the best we can, but we have not gotten any clues whatsoever,” Sheriff Lee Foster said. “He was seen by several people walking toward Highway 34 from his residence. Once he got up there we do not know what happened.”

Richardson suffers from dementia, and reverts to his former residence in Lexington. Foster said he believes he needs to go to the Piggly Wiggly. Foster said that law enforcement in that area are aware of the situation, and they have been in communication with them, but they also have found nothing.

“It’s very dangerous for someone in his condition to be out by himself, health wise and also someone possibly taking advantage of him,” he said.

The NCSO has utilized bloodhounds to track Richardson, and helicopters. The helicopters have flown up in the Silverstreet area, but without success. The Sheriff’s Office is currently discussing other searching options, but since Richardson was seen by several witnesses walking, they are not sure where the search would be conducted.

“Anything anyone can do right now is pray. We do not know where to search. If they see somebody that matches his description, or saw something that night, call us and give us the information,” Foster said.

Richardson was last seen wearing a beige shirt with dark pants. He is a black male who is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and only has one eye. If anyone sees Richardson call 911 or the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office at 803-321-2222.

Foster added that Richardson has wandered off on two previous occasions. The first time he was located in his neighborhood and the second he was found in the City of Newberry after getting a ride.

Donnie Richardson has been missing since Nov. 26. The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to contact them.
