NEWBERRY — The Newberry Veterans Day parade will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 12 on Main Street in downtown Newberry.

“The Veterans Day Parade keeps getting better, and we’ll have a very good parade this year, ” said Eugene Wilson, commander of American Legion Post 219. “We encourage people and groups to enter the parade and then for the community to attend the parade on Nov. 12. This is a great opportunity to honor our veterans.”

Grand marshals will be veterans from many decades. Participants in the parade will include marching bands, the Junior ROTC, scouts and many others. Entry into the parade is free but entries are encouraged to be patriotic.

Parade applications are available from Wilson and Henry Brooks, commander of American Legion Post 24, or at the City of Newberry Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department on College Street.

“We’re pleased to honor all that served our country as active duty, Reserves and National Guard,” said Brooks. “We thank the community for participating in this salute and coming to the parade on Nov. 12.”
