NEWBERRY — United Way Young Leaders Society of the Midlands donated school supplies in September to students at Newberry Elementary School including backpacks, pencils, paper, pencil sharpeners, composition notebooks, markers and other items.

“This presents a wonderful opportunity for our children and school. We are so thankful for this emerging partnership with the United Way,” said Sheila Brown, NES Parenting Coordinator.

The outreach is part of the United Way’s efforts to expand its presence in the Midlands Area. United Way Leaderships Program Director Becky Wych said the group was grateful for the chance to reach out to Newberry and help promote education and student success.
