NEWBERRY — Allison Moore with the Newberry City Police Department received a call July 15 from Dowd’s Child Care and Preschool requesting their presence that afternoon.

Moore said she was told that some of the children had made cards for them and they wanted to show their appreciation to law enforcement.

“We were greeted with a huge thank you from all the kids and were given goody bags, cards, a poster, donuts and cookies,” Moore said.

They took a group photos and city officers passed out stickers and coloring books to the children.
