SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — The Newberry College women’s golf team was in 12th place following the first two rounds of the Ross Resorts Invitational at the Mid-Pines GC on Monday.

The Wolves are opening their fall season in a field loaded with Division II powerhouses and a Division I team. The Wolves are at +85 (330-331=661) after 36 holes and are four strokes behind conference rival Wingate in the team standings.

Karly Mims (Lexington) led the Newberry contingent in 16th place at +14 (77-81=158), while Marianna Monaco (Yonkers, N.Y.) is in 44th at +19 (82-81=163).

Nabila Inak (Forest Hills, N.Y.) improved by 10 strokes from her first collegiate round to her second and is in a tie for 65th at +26 (90-80=170). Also making her collegiate debut was Taylor Lance (Travelers Rest) is tied for 70th at +29 (83-90=173). Annabelle Dallery (Sumter) rounds out the Newberry contingent in 78th at +33 (88-89=177).

The Wolves completed the opening tournament of the season with 18 holes on Tuesday.
