Rebekah Marie Doying and James Carlton George Talley were united in marriage on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at four o’clock in the afternoon at the Union Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Union, South Carolina. The ceremony officiant was Pastor Glen Altermatt.

Vocal music for the ceremony was provided by Katie Brewer. Pianist was Scott Brewer. Drs. Brooks and Lynda Burnsed, uncle and aunt of the bride, of Loma Linda, Calif., served as guest registry attendants. The reception was held at the Veterans Memorial Park Lodge.

The bride is the daughter of George and Anna Marie Burnsed Doying of Prosperity, S.C. She is the granddaughter of the late Horace Burnsed and Jean Burnsed of Union, and the late Frank and late Beulah Doying of Miami, Florida. The groom is the son of David and Cindy Talley of Columbia, S.C. He is the grandson of James and Sandra Vermilyea of North Augusta, S.C., and the late Carlton and the late Maxine Talley.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless, sweetheart neckline ball gown of white tulle with beading and lace applique on the fitted bodice cascading onto the skirt with a sweep train and complemented by an elbow length veil with crystal and pearl embellishments. The bride carried a bouquet of white and yellow frangipanis.

Karly Burnsed, cousin of the bride, of Walla Walla, Washington, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included Katie Brewer of Gaston, S.C., Blythe Howe of Columbia, S.C., and Clarissa Brignoni of Atlanta, Ga. The flower girls were Kynslee Davis, niece of the groom, of Columbia, S.C., and Isabel Bubar of Gilbert, S.C. The Maid of Honor wore a tea length dress in canary yellow satin, while the bridesmaids wore the same style in marine blue. Each carried a bouquet of white and yellow frangipanis.

Groomsmen included David Talley, father of the groom, of Columbia, S.C., Jody Vermilyea, uncle of the groom, of Bluffton, S.C., Chance Hoff of San Angelo, Texas, and Edward Herbert of Columbia, S.C.

The bride is a graduate of Mt. Pisgah Academy in Candler, N.C. She is currently attending Piedmont Technical College pursuing a degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. She has also been employed at the Palms Grill and Bar in Newberry, S.C. The groom graduated from Irmo High School in Irmo, S.C. He is currently serving in the United States Army stationed at Ft. Gordon in Augusta, Ga.
