Mr. and Mrs. Wayne M. Wicker of Newberry, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kaylyn Marie Wicker of Newberry, S.C., to John Westley Hurst of Florence, S.C. The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Hurst of Florence, S.C.
The bride’s maternal grandparents are Mrs. Betty D. Layton and the late Donnie Layton. The bride’s paternal grandparents are Mrs. Edith F. Wicker and the late Claude C. Wicker.
The groom’s maternal grandparents are Mrs. Barbara B. Jenkinson and the late Dwight Jenkinson and Ray C. Cannady. The groom’s paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Pete Hurst.
The groom is a graduate of Francis Marion University. He is employed at Duke Energy in Marion, S.C. The bride is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She is employed at Wallace-Gregg Elementary School in Florence School District One.
The wedding will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Hidden Acres in Marion, S.C.
