The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests Sept. 18-Sept. 24:
— Sasha Nicole Young, 23, 1382 Apple Orchard Road, Clinton, was arrested Sept. 23 for a wanted check. According to the incident report, Young was wanted by the Laurens City Police Department. She was arrested and transported to Laurens.
— A juvenile was arrested Sept. 23 at Newberry High School and charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds. According to the incident report, the juvenile turned in a taser designed as a cell phone. The juvenile was transported to the sheriff’s office and released to a guardian.
— Shekila Monetera Camack, 17, 2467 Seibert Road, Prosperity, was arrested Sept. 23 and charged with disorderly conduct at Mid-Carolina High. According to the incident report, Camack and another subject were fighting in the hallway and seen by school staff throwing punches. Both subjects were arrested and taken to the detention center.
— Quadrell Lamont Cherry, 31, 523 Carlisle Whitmire Hwy., was arrested Sept. 19 and charged with disorderly conduct. According to the incident report, the subject got into a fight with another inmate at the detention center. Both subjects receives a summons.
— Devante Shaquille Davenport, 19, 511 Bush River Road, Newberry, was arrested Sept. 21 and charged with simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
— Sunshine Larain Gable, 31, 125 Pine St., Prosperity, was arrested Sept. 21 and charged with disorderly conduct. According to the report, Gable was screaming profanity toward a black male in the checkout line at a store. The security camera showed the subject acting in a disorderly manner. Both parties were mentioning firearms in their argument.
— Joshua Ryan Brown, 21, 1025 Forbes Road, Indian Land; Heath Allen Ehrsam, 18, 501 Murphy Ave., Ferguson, Ky.; Richard Nicholas Giner, 21, 18 Avenue, Mount Kisco, N.Y.; and Chase Dalton Austin, 18, 612 Superior Circle, Chapin, were arrested Sept. 22 and charged with transferring beer or wine to a person under 21 and drunkenness. According to the incident report, two people called to complain about a party at 271 Belfast Road in Newberry. Officers found multiple underage subjects intoxicated on the premises.
— A juvenile was arrested Sept. 19 and charged with disturbing Newberry High School. According to the incident report, the juvenile got into a fight with another juvenile in the classroom. Both subjects were transported to the sheriff’s office and released to guardians.
— William Anfernee Still, 17, 848 Sandrun Creek Road, Silverstreet, was arrested Sept. 19 and charged with disturbing Newberry High. According to the report, a fight was videoed onto a PSP player in the boys bathroom. The video was taken as evidence. Still was taken to the sheriff’s office and released to his mother.
The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents Sept. 18-Sept. 24:
— A harassing telephone call was reported Sept. 22. According to the incident report, a male subject was contentiously sending text messages and calls even after the complainant advised him to stop.
— Deputies responded Sept. 24 to a report of gang graffiti on Grant Drive in Prosperity. According to the incident report, the graffiti was painted on the roadway. The officer took photos of the scene.
— An assault was reported Sept. 24 in Pomaria near J and W Roads. According to the incident report, the complainant reported an assault by someone.
— A resident of Glenn Street Extension in Newberry reported Sept. 24 that her son let the air out of the tires on her vehicle and then threw her keys into the backyard.
— A resident of South Main Street in Prosperity reported Sept. 25 that she heard someone outside her bedroom window.
— Deputies responded Sept. 25 to 50 Thomas Griffin Road in Newberry and questioned 12 men who were walking around the Days Inn. When questioned, they said they were not there to spray paint “The Rock.” Another group of about 20 men were also discovered and they said they were there to spray paint “The Rock” but could not find it.
— A door-to-door panhandling incident was reported Sept. 23 in Prosperity near Hollands Landing Road. According to the incident report, the complainant said she watched the subject go to several neighbors homes asking for money or work for payment. The reporting deputy was unable to locate the subject.
— A homeowner reported damage to 662 Hawkins Road in Newberry on Sept. 20 after evicting the renter for not paying rent. When the homeowner went to check the residence, there was damage to the house.
— Suspicious activity was reported Sept. 20 at 3211 Nance St. in Newberry. According to the incident report, the complainant said that upon checking his property, the doors to underneath the residence were open.
— An underage party was reported Sept. 20 at 1917 Hope Station Road in Pomaria. According to the incident report, the deputy observed several cans and boxes of alcohol sitting by cars. Most of the subjects were underage. The subject said she was hosting the party for her daughter’s 19th birthday but denied alcohol was being served. The deputy walked inside and located alcoholic beverage containers.
— An assault and battery was reported Sept. 21 near Pine Meadow Road in Newberry. According to the incident report, the complainant and the subject were trying to settle a disagreement. The subject struck the complainant’s son and the victim was also hit for defending his son.
— Suspicious activity on a property check was reported Sept. 21 at 2226 Adelaide St. in Newberry. According to the incident report, the complainant said she was concerned about someone stealing from a family member’s property. The property was secured.
— Deputies responded Sept 22 to a report of racing on Mount Bethel Garmany Road and Mount Pleasant Road in Newberry. According to the report, the deputy observed between 25 to 30 cars traveling east on U.S. 176 near Spring Hill Drive at about 70 mph. About 15 cars pulled into the Rutherford Club. Three cars that were racing did not pull into the club.
— A gasoline pump at 14327 C.R. Koon Highway in Prosperity suffered about $1,500 in damage on Sept. 19 after a hose was left in the vehicle and the subject pulled away causing the hose to break away. If the subject pays for damage, the complainant does not wish to pursue any further.
