Li’l Cricket’s Parent Company Launches Million-Dollar Scratch Card Game
NEWBERRY — Area Li’l Cricket stores are launching a promotion on Jan. 15 that could make one lucky shopper and one online contestant each $1 million richer.
Li’l Cricket’s Million-Dollar Scratch Card Game has two parts: an in-store component where customers purchase a specified product, such as a candy bar or soda, to receive a scratcher card and can instantly win cash prizes by scratching off the right boxes; and a second chance to win $1 million – by submitting a code from the bottom of their scratcher card to www.WIN1MM.com.
Every game piece has the potential to be a winning card for various cash prizes ($1, $2, $5, $10, $50 and one $1 million card) in a game that includes $5 million in potential prizes.
Customers also will be encouraged to vote for their favorite charity among a list, which initially includes about 15 nonprofits nominated by employees in markets served by Li’l Cricket parent company GPM Investments LLC. The nonprofit organization with the most votes will receive a $20,000 donation from GPM – there is no purchase necessary, and anyone can vote for their favorite nonprofit.
“Li’l Cricket is all about speed and convenience, helping busy consumers get what they need so that they can get on with their day,” said Bill Reilly, senior vice president, marketing for Li’l Cricket. “We’ve designed this promotion for shoppers in a hurry – scratch and go.”
Reilly also emphasized the online component of the promotion. “We’re urging people to play online for another chance to win as well as to vote to make a significant impact on a worthwhile nonprofit.”
Li’l Cricket has the following local locations in Newberry:
